Welcome! š¤
What follows below is little bit about my own personal journey, the seeds that led to Mana's emergence, and Mana's vision moving forward. IĀ write this letter to you from a place of deep care and hope that it finds you well, wherever you may be on your journey.
IĀ grew up in the Bay Area in a little city called Fremont. Both my parents immigrated from Punjab, India and raised me with the core value of seva ("service" in Punjabi). Seva is a way of seeing each moment as an opportunity to serve with love, honoring the truth that we are all interconnected at the deepest level.
As IĀ moved through school, this core value percolated through my life. Whether it be tutoring in Calculus or organizing an anti-bullying assembly, IĀ endeavored to lift my communities wherever possible. My life changed, however, when a high school classmate and friend tragically took her own life. Coupled with a volunteering experience at a Chinese orphanage the following summer, IĀ realized how little IĀ knew about the true struggles of those around me, let alone my own.
Losing someone is heart-breaking. It's one thing to write about, and it's another thing to experience. If you've lost someone recently, our hearts go out to you. ā¤ļø
ā
From the depths of my heart, IĀ began a healing journey that has taken me to therapy, the Amazon rainforest, communities such as CLGĀ and EMLT, breathwork, yoga, and more. It's been a journey that has seen me build a new relationship with my emotions, reset existing family systems, and shed childhood imprints that kept me stuck in past patterns. With every turn of the spiral, new tools and teachers have presented themselves to come back to a place of peace and love within.
ā
Most recently, in coming to the end of a major relationship this year, IĀ felt a crippling tsunami of grief that was beyond what IĀ could move through alone. IĀ reached out for help, and friends graciously breathed with me as I cried, constricted, and broke down with grief. As IĀ also built up my own daily breath practice, IĀ found within me a renewed sense of vitality and desire to serve once more by making these kinds of safe spaces for emotional release more widely accessible.
Truth is, we all have our struggles. No matter what they might be for you, weāre all doing the best we can. We also don't need to struggle alone. When we let in support, we expand our capacity to alchemize whatever challenges or challenging emotions we may be experiencing in a significant way.
This is why Mana exists - to create safe spaces for you to face your emotions while held in community and care. We're starting with a core set of offerings and hope to grow them to create an underlying emotional support system you can count on at any time, no matter what might be happening in your life.
ā
At the deepest level, Mana's mission is to expand our collective experience of love. With more humans feelings resourced and abundant within themselves, IĀ genuinely believe that love will naturally ripple out into caring for one another, healing our planet, and even reaching for the stars. I mean, can you imagine how amazing it would it be if we could all get the emotional care we needed to show up as our fullest selves in life?
That's the world we're creating for, and it begins with you...right here.
ā
With Gratitude,
Simar and Tony
